Mohair Rug - Cosmo x Maja Maljević

This rug was designed by fine artist, Maja Maljević.

The title 'Cosmo' relates to the cosmic nature of the artwork, and also fun fact - 'Cosmo' is one of the most popular baby names of 2022. :) 

Maja’s playful creative process is intriguing. She dabbles in painting, printmaking, sketching, collaging and pottery to name a few. Her final pieces are usually layered by various techniques resulting in very distinctive complex and colourful works. 

Maja’s fun-loving spirit translates in her work; her paintings, prints and ceramics are packed and layered with all the happy feels. This rug in particular is impressive because of the fine details expertly captured, especially considering the interpretation of the design on a loom in a very manual process.

LEAD TIME: Our mohair rugs are handwoven and require a 4-6 week delivery lead time. All rugs are made to order

FABRICATION: 100% mohair, sourced from local farmers 

COLOURS: Cream (ecru), black, terracotta, mustard, cobalt

PROCESS: Handwoven on loom 

SIZES: 120 x 180cm / 180cm x 265cm. Size pictured above is 120 x 180cm. Note that sizing can be adjusted by request

WEIGHT: Approximately 3 - 3.5kg per square meter

CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Professional clean, or spot clean with hair shampoo & water, flat dried away from direct sunlight
