Romaria collaborated with Mpho Vackier, a process engineer turned furniture designer and owner of award winning furniture and product design brand, TheUrbanative.
TheUrbanative is known for telling African stories through functional design.
While conceptualising our unified collection, we turned to the vast, untamed spaces and unimaginable beauty of Africa.
The Milima Cardi is an exploration of patterns and textures typically observed on an African Safari. The name 'Milima' is a Swahili word which means 'mountains' or 'high place'. The curved, ribbed lines resemble the forms of mountains and textures of traced sand dunes.
It's a comfortable cardi that will be high on rotation in any wardrobe. The neutral colour palette with a pop of mustard makes it an elevated basic; easy to travel with, or to wear to work or play. Never to be packed away.
Designed in Johannesburg. Slowly, well-made in South Africa. 🇿🇦
