Carla & Vanessa crossed paths at a summit in Lisbon—one speaking, one moderating —both inspired.

Carla & Vanessa’s meeting was a moment that defined us-where two women coming from different parts of the world, different perspectives, skills, and cultures merge to create something that feels like a celebration of everything we are and everything we carry. ABOUT VANESSA FORD

 

Vanessa Ford is a creative powerhouse who’s rewriting the narrative for the next generation. As the co-creator and producer behind Super Sema, the first African animated superhero series, she’s on a mission to inspire fearless, curious, and creative girls everywhere— all while raising three bold dreamers of her own.

Vanessa’s journey began in South Africa, where she worked with the Mandela Foundation in global health before stepping into filmmaking, co-producing the iconic film Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom, and continued in Kenya where Super Sema was born.

Vanessa believes in the power of storytelling to teach and inspire. “I’ve always wanted my work to speak to something bigger than me,” she says. “Whether it’s through media, fashion, or music, I want people—especially women—to feel seen. To feel powerful in their own skin. This cloak carries that same message. It’s saying, I got you. It’s saying, step into your power. It’s saying, you are already everything you need to be.”

This collaboration is a celebration of superwomen, big dreams, and the unstoppable power of girls who dare to believe in themselves. Vanessa Ford is the magic behind the mission, the spark that lights the fire. And trust us, when Vanessa is in the room, the future feels brighter, bolder, and infinitely more beautiful.
